A short Genting Trip

School holidays just ended a few days ago. We (ah gong, ah mah, bro and i) took the booking for 888 deals and put a stay in Genting First World Hotel for a night 5 days ago.



2D1N stay + buffet breakfast for two at the price of RM38.80 Nett was definitely a good deal.


Initially i thought to park my car at the skyway station and take cable car to Genting Highland. However, it was closed and so i have to drive my 1.5CC proton wira all the way up. Well, it was not easy man.


We were greated with this big Choi Seng when we arrived.




Another useful tip for saving some money when you are at Genting would be getting yourself a holiday card. Check it out here. You can buy a RM 100 prepaid holiday card with the price of RM 85.


Dinner at 'Lao Di Fang' was a bad choice.


First, their Claypot Seafood Noodles tasted terrible, priced at RM 18.



It was very salty. We requested boiling water to be added but it was still the same. In the end, it was taken off from the total bill.


Can you believe that the picture shown below is actually called ASAM fish? RM 36 for that.



It tasted nothing like ASAM fish but more to sweet and sour fish. It was the best dish of the night though.


Next, the 'Ham Choy Kou Lou' was bad as well, priced at RM 20.




Last but not least, the varieble vege plate with brinjals, long beans, four seasons bean and some salted fish on top.



RM 20 for that was a bad choice.




So people, DONT go Lao Di Fang for dinner meal okay?


We missed to see the DREAMZ show as it is only available after 26 Jan 2009.




My bro is underage and somehow he was lucky and was allowed to go in to casino that night. Unfortunately, we have no beginner's luck and we lost RM 30 playing slot machines after 2 hours.


The buffet breakfast was good. There are much more additional food compared to last time.

My posting was out tuesday and i have confirmed with encik Osman yesterday. As the title stated, i will be posted to Negeri Johor, lapor diri on date between 1st Feb (which is a sunday) and 15 Feb.

Im still jobless

Yes, i am still jobless right now. I am still waiting for my posting letter to come.


A few days ago, a letter from lembaga farmasi arrived.




I was very excited and very gan jiong at the same time. I told my sis that it might be the posting letter.


It has the kementerian kesihatan logo on the letter.




Together with my sis, we scanned the letter quickly and then she shouted :'oh you got JOHOR!'.


The letter looks like this.

It was actually a cert from the lembaga farmasi, and with the name of the setiausaha of Lembaga Farmasi - Zawiyah Binti Mat JOHOR.

LOL.

Nope. No news yet. Most probably i will start working on 16 Jan and get my posting letter by the end of this week, Gua.

Happy New Year People!


I spent my last day of year 2008 with my 2 sis and bro in the Curve.



We had express dinner at Thai Express.



Each of us ordered an individual express meal.



Olive fried rice with chicken and fresh black olives priced at RM 13.90



Chef's special tomyam fried rice priced at RM 13.90 - SUPER spicy!



Claypot black pepper soft shell crab with glass noodles priced at RM 23.90



Southern-style dry beef curry with rice priced at RM 16.90


We also shared a snack platter priced at RM 22.90.



It consists of thai chicken wings, fish cakes, toufu, acar and spring rolls - BAD choice, do not try! >_<



Chiang Mai mango blend priced at RM 8.90


Hot lemon tea priced at RM 4.90 - SUPER sour, added hot water twice but still sour.




The dinner was a treat from my da jie, so arigato dajie.

At about 10.30pm, people started to move out of the curve and gathered around the stage. One was outside tesco, and another one was between the curve and cineleisure.


Some 100m away from the big stage outside tesco.


We decided not to join in the huge crowd for countdown. We got ourselves somewhere outside cineleisure to watch the 10 mins long fireworks.

Our spot was so strategic that we could see both fireworks display from One U and also the Curve. However, the firework display was 'mah mah dei' only, nothing amazing. After countdown, we stuck in the jam for almost 1 hour before we got home.


I bought myself a long sleeve at Concept Store, priced RM 32.90 after 70% off.




And for Zhuon, he brought home this long creature with him.







Zhuon said this new 'creature' can be used to freak out my mum to help her raise her bp, as she has too low blood pressure. :P

Last day of year 2008

12 more hours later from now will be next year (2009) already. I still remember very clearly what i did last year during the last day of 2007 - i worked for 15 hours but i got paid a total of 26 hours.


I spent a few days in batu pahat before i came back to Peejay. If you happen to visit batu pahat, your friend (chuah pei ling/peifong) will sure bring you go try out the duck noodles, herbal chicken and fried oyster. For my case, ailynn was the driver to bring me there. They are all famous food from the small town. The 'buy1free1' bubble tea priced from RM 3 to RM 6 is another great deal to check out too.


I have learnt a few facts in the past days and thought to share it here with you guys :

1) In Johor, the state education minister has announced 'kelas tambahan bahasa english' (additional english class) for students every tuesday night a year ago. This special class is purely to help the bumiputras as non-bumiputras have to pay RM 10 monthly to attend this class. As a result, NONE non-bumiputra is interested to attend the class. The teacher is paid ONLY an additional RM 300 for a year.


2) Dentistry course is a damn freaking expensive course to take in Malaysia. Studying for 5 years in IMU will cost a total of USD 154,000 (International students) or RM 400,000 (Malaysia students). You will have to serve the government for 3 years, a shorter duration as compared to pharmacist (4 years) and doctor (5years).


3) Government servant who will be working after 1st January 2009 is only eligible for a total of 25 days leave instead of 30 days. SOBS.

How bad is the economy now? Today's economy has fall into a critical state and many people are worried about losing everything they have. Ask Your Doctor - Questions

I received this 'Ask your Doctor' checklist from my uncle and i find it extremely useful. It is a list of questions that you (the patient) can ask the doctor during the expensive counselling session.



Recently i have met too many doctors/specialists. Some are extremely useless - they only care to suck $$. While some are really good. I met one renal specialist last week and i was really happy with him. He took his time to explain to us slowly and great counselling.

Its very useful for us (pharmacist) as well as doctors to bear in mind all the questions in the checklist.

Things i bought from PC fair

1) 2GB San Disk Micro SD Card



RM 20 for 2GB is a good deal. Its for my Samsung U600 phone. Initially i thought i would buy the 4 GB for the price of RM 35 but my phone can only support up to 2GB. Besides that, it can also be used as a 2GB memory card for my Canon camera.


2) Laser Mouse



RM 23 for this new technology laser mouse! Super high sensitive with 1600 dpi with the dimension (L*W*H*) : 116*62*33* mm. I love it, so far so good.





3) RM Media Center (With 320 GB Sata Seagate Hard disk)



RM 375, beat the special price! This is a new popular media player/hard disk. An internal hard disk can be added (like what i did). It can be connected to the TV via an AV cable. It supports many movies formats (RM, RMVB, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4), musics (MP3, WMA, AAC, etc) and Digital photo frame (JPG, BMP, TIF, slide show, etc). It also has a USB Host 2.0 which can be connected to an external hard disk/thumb drives for playing movies/musics. In addition, it is equiped with card reader (support SD, MMC, MS, XD). Imagine one day everyone will carry this media hard disk around to travel, because it can store so much things.




4) Web cam



RM 79 for another 'canggih' stuff. It is a 5 megapixel resolution webcam and it supports up to 10 times optical zoom!
