Last gym-ing and swimming session

26th Sep 2008, Friday - I had my last gym-ing and swimming session in glasgow since my gym membership is going to expire tomorrow.

The gym is fully equipped with a new set of sport equipments!!! But i personally perferred the old one. Right after gym, i went swimming.

Today, I am proud to share that I CAN FINALLY SWIM.

Thank you yhs for going swimming with me for the very first time in glasgow, for the subsequent times, plus joining gym together. Thank you edmond and sm for joining the gym together! And most importantly, thank you Jemma, Mark and sei ah phek for guiding me trough the beginner swimming classes.

I gave myself a swimming status of 1/10 during my second visit to the pool in glasgow, and now, i shall give myself at least a 6/10 for being able to swim laps without problems.

YipppPppeee!

Dinner at Asian Style was very disappointing.

8.50 pounds for 8 pieces of sambal sotong was definitely overpriced.

Fried rice using nasi lemak rice suck!

Luckily, dinner was saved by this big plate of 'wak tan hor' priced at 7 pounds.

Asian style at glasgow GG-ied. Swimming and gym-ing gg-ied. I hope that i can swim more frequent in future.

My lou poh's favourite

During our trip to Italy, we have an extra morning to be spent in Lido island, Venice.

Initially, she tried to follow what i did...

- and yes, she did it, exactly the same.

Then, she tried again to follow my other pose...

This time, she failed. :)

ADV - online sport videos

I have spent hours browsing through total sport video network, watching SportsVids today. There are alot of amazing sport clips on the site.

What is your favourite sport game? Who is your favourite star/role model?

Football is the game for everyone. It is a universal game for everyone. Everybody is just crazy for it. Famous world class football players included David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and many more. Out of all, David Beckham remains the hero in a football field. He plays midfield and he is the captain of England national football team. Here is a highlight video of David Beckham.

Worlds Best Soccer Players

From the recent Beijing Olympic Games 2008, there is one name that everyone will definitely remember - Usain Bolt. He broke 2 world records, both 100m and 200m run. He is the hero in Olympic Games history. Watch how Usain Bolt beat the rest of world runners in 100m Beijing Olympic Final.

Usain Bolt Breaks New World Record

Besides that, he broke the 200m record set by Micheal Johnson too. Watch the video of Michael Johnson.

Michael Johnson 200m World Record '96 Olympics

I like Bolt very much, he is definitely the star of Olympic Games. I admire this guy for everything - he broke olympic records at his young age, his speed is almost unbelieveable.

Another Olympic Star would be Michael Phelps. With the perfect body and unlimited energy that he owns, he became the swimming star of today after winning 8 gold medals in ONE Olympic Games.

Michael Phelps World Record 200m Fly

Last but not least, for anyone who hearts basketball, you must be in love with Kobe Bryant of Los Angeles Lakers too. He is as famous as Micheal Jordan as a world class NBA basketball player.

Ireland trip 4days 3 nights gg-ied part 2

After completing our journey at Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, we made our way to Whitepark bay - a beautiful sea (Ocean).

We were wondering why there isnt a single one swimming in the beautiful sea.

To our surprise, there was a board stating that it is not safe to swim in the sea. The sea behind us is atlantic ocean!

Next, we spent a couple of hours at Giant's Causeway.

The Giant's Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has an astonishing complex of over 38,000 mainly hexagonal shaped columns packed closely together to form 'stepping stones' out to sea towards Scotland. Read full legendary story of Giant's Causeway here.

We were very fortunate to have a dry day, as climbing became simpler than in a wet day.

It was believed that the hexagonal stones formed the wishing chair. As the legend says, all wishes made by anyone at the Wishing Chair will come true. It was really an amazing feeling to visit Giant's Causeway.

There were alot of walking in the same day. We walked for at least 7km around Giant's Causeway area.

There were also some features found at the Giant's Causeway which were associated with the giant Finn MacCool.

The Giant's Eye

The Giant Organ Pipes

From the visitor centre, we walked towards the Giant's Causeway. We then walked passed the Giant's gate and Giant's boot to reach the Giant's Eye. We walked from one mountain end to the other mountain end to make our way back to the visitor centre.

After Giant's Causeway, we visited the Bushmill Distillery. Ticket was prices at 5.50 euros and we chose not to enter the distillery.

In the end, we bought some food from the nearby grocery shop - SPAR and prepared our own dinner that night.

On the following day, we made our way to Dublin city centre, stopping by Belfast for changing of bus.

Dinner at Thunder road cafe was great. We chose this American restaurant over the Irish restaurant.

Then we made our way to the Guinness Storehouse the next morning.

I hate Guinness when i was in Malaysia. But when i was in Dublin, Guinness tasted not too bad. I can actually accept the taste! -_-"

There were also several famous bridges in Dublin city.

If you ask me to go back to Dublin again next time, i will answer "uh uh, no thank you.". I dont mind going back to Northern Ireland for another trip in future.

Ireland trip GG-ied. Leaving to Italy trip this midnight.

Ireland trip 4days 3 nights gg-ied part 1

People, Northern Ireland is a must go place!!!! Dublin is optional, Maybe YES, mayb NO.

It gave me a totally new, different experience as compared to the busy life in Paris/London/Spain/Portugal. We spent 2 days in Antrim (Northern Ireland) and another 2 days in the busy city of Ireland - Dublin.

We stayed in Sheep Island View hostel in Ballintoy, a very peaceful town in Antrim. Thank you Lee Kwai Hoong for the recommendations and tips, thank you qris for recommending lee. hehe.

So why Northern Ireland?

Long but worthwhile Travel distance - It took approximately 30mins to fly from Glasgow to Belfast. To reach Ballintoy, it took us a 3 hours bus journey from Belfast city centre. It was all worth it. The first place that we went to the first evening was Ballintoy Harbour.

Breathtaking walks in the evening - The harbour was a great spot for evening walk and also to catch the sunset. We spent our evening walking and picking up seashells there.

The same night, we had our dinner at one hostel-restaurant nearby. That was the only restaurant open that night.

The next morning, by following advices from a brazilian couple, we walked to carrick-a-rede rope bridge area after visiting the ballintoy harbour for the second time. This time, the gate was locked and we were unable to get near the seashore to pick up seashells liao. =/

Anyway, Carrick Island and Sheep Island have some really amazing views!!!!! Spectacular views - It will definitely make you people go W.O.O.W!!!

Erm, it was stated that Carrick-a-Rede means the rock in the road. The road is the sea route for Atlantic salmon fishes on their journey past Carrick islannd. For over 350 years, fisherman have strung a rope bridge 30m high to allow them to access the best places to catch the migrating salmon.

And we have to walk for 1km before we reach the rope bridge.

Superb weather plus naturally beautiful views on a lovely day.

I love the rope bridge so much that i crossed it again and again, just to take more pictures, plus to enjoy the superb views from the bridge.

It was finally our turn to get on the rope bridge.

Another view of Carrick-a-rede rope bridge from far.

Yeah, We did it! :)

Paris 5 days 4 nights GG-ied Part 1

The trip started off with a few hours of nap in Prestwick airport before we flew to Paris Beauvais airport. That night was cold, we have to wait in the airport from midnight until 4.30am to check in.

After checking in at Hotel Luna Parc, our first stop in Paris was The Louvre Musuem.

This musuem is really huge. It has more than 35,000 pieces of collections of paintings and sculptures. And if you are wondering why this musuem is so famous, here is the answer.

Yeap!! Its the painting of Mona Lisa by Leonardo Davinci

You can see alot of tourists crowded infront of the painting.

And i also 'mm zhap shu' and took one.

More pictures @ Lourve Musuem

Next, we headed to Place de Concorde. Here, you will find 8 female statues adouring the 4 corners of the square represent France's largest cities. You will also find a high-long-pen-like statue and some bangladeshs were selling really cheap souvenirs there.

We had dinner at Chartier, one French restaurant recommended by Lonely Planet. We failed to read French so one waiter helped us translate some words on the menu. The food tasted terribly and it was not cheap! -_-"

After dinner, we visited the busy street - Champs-Elysees. It is very famous with both shopping and heavy traffic.

The famous Arc de Triomphe is situated in a roundabout along the busy road. It is claimed to be the world's largest traffic roundabout!

And that was the end of Day 1 @ Paris.

On day 2, we spent almost 12 hours in Paris Disneyland. The weather was not good. It was drizzling the whole day. However, we had some great moments in the Disneyland. :)

The few hours in the morning was spent in the Walt's Disney Studio park.

We took 2 rides (Crush's Coaster and Flying carpets over Agrabah).

She was very scared before the ride.

Congratulations! You did it!

We also watched 2 shows (Cinemague and Moteurs...Action!Stunt show spectacular).

Motuers Action is a must watch!!! Simply fantastic!

We took pictures with Minnie, Mickey and the very naughty Goofie!

The second half of the day was spent in the Disneyland Park. We took some relaxing rides (Pirates if the Caribbean, Phantom Maner and Le Carrousal de Lancelot).

In the evening, there was this disney character parade show which lasted 50 minutes.

Then it is time for some more exciting rides. The Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast was fun. You need to have some basic arcade gun shooting skills (eg. time crisis) to score well.

This Space mountain : mission 2 ride was thrilling. It was fast and it lasted for several minutes inside the space mountain! Dont miss this if you like excitement!

p/s : The Star Tours was completely waste of time! NONONO!

When night falls, the view of disneyland was superb.

Day 2 ended with late dinner at KFC in Republic.

ADV - golf courses

The Oceanico group in Portugal successfully built some world class oceanico golf courses in Portugal's Algarve region. One very famous golf course is The Victoria Course, where 18 millions of euros was invested in the project and it was claimed to be the most promising golf complex in the whole Europe. Other popular golf courses included Laguna Course, Millenium Course, Old Course and Pinhal Course.

Paris 5 days 4 nights GG-ied Part 2

On day 3, our first destination was Eiffel Tower. We managed to get to the second level of Eiffel Tower by WALKING THE STAIRS.

Then we headed to Notre Dame Cathedral. The weather and the sky looked perfect.

In the evening, we walked around Moulin Rouge and the red light district.

Then, we spent a very good time eating McD and chilling outside the Lourve.

On day 4, we went to Centre Pompidou - known as the most succesful cultural centre in the world.

Then we did musuem hopping from Musee Nationale of Modern Art to Musee d'Orsay and finally to Musee Rodin.

When night falls, we took some great pictures near Eiffel tower.

On the last day, we walked around Pont St-Loius and Pont Louis-Philippe (claimed to be one of the most romantic spots in all of Paris!). NANI? @@ Then we walked to Notre Dame.

We had our last lunch in Paris in Paris Chinatown. The place was good. We should have eaten our lunch there during the past few days.

Since baguette is so famous with the French, not surprisingly, you will see chinese people selling baguette at Chinatown. You can get 'CHAR SIEW' baguette there!!!

Next, we had a hard time locating Pantheon. Finally, our last stop was at Baslique du Sacre-Coeur.

ADV - Hollywood love

Have you encountered any hollywood's memorable lines from your friends or any strangers that keep you remember all the time? What is the chances of using these "pick-up" lines in real life situation and they are actually working?

There are many variations of pick-up lines. However, they have the same aim - to win friends and influnce people. For exampe, one of my favourite way to ask for phone number would be "Hey there, I lost my phone number, can I borrow yours?". Another one will be "If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put U and I together. "

A day out

First, i woke up at 10 plus in the morning, assuming that it was still 9am because i forgot to readjust the time when i reset the phone. After breakfast, i was shocked to realise that it was already 10mins to 11am. OMG >> 11.30am go out lunch lerh. So we decided to change the time to 12pm.

Where did we go? Rumours again :)

We(lpz, yh, sy and i) have chicken satays as starte since there is no lunch menu on sunday. It was really good. Beat eastern treats punya gao gao lorh.

10 out of 10 girls like tomyam. And so again, 3 out of 3 gals ordered tomyam with fried rice. Seafood tomyam priced at 3.80 pounds and chicken tomyam priced at 3.50 pounds. Fried rice at 2 pounds each.

That was my fish head noodles. It was highly recommended by all my friends. For me, it tasted so so nia, not bad but i still like the prawn mee the most. :)

After lunch, loupohzai and i took a bus to Braehead from buchanan bus station. I was attracted by the phrase on the website that it has "over 100 brands in 100 stores". There is also IKEA next to the shopping complex. In addition, there will be a ice skating ring beginning of winter and basketball arena for basketball matches or concert.

However, it was BIG DISAPPOINTMENT when i reached Braehead. It was just slightly better than Buchanna Gallery.

In less than 2 hours time and with no single photo taken, i started to feel very bored and so we decided to make our way back to glasgow city. Then we took another bus (bus 3 or bus 56 from union street) to Silverburn and we make it there at 5 mins passed 6pm.

And you know what????

Silverburn opening time is as follow :

Monday - Friday 10.00am - 9.00pm
Saturday 9.00am - 7.00pm
Sunday 10.00am - 6.00pm

DENG. We were late. So we ended up spending an hour in this chicken shop.

We ordered half a peri-peri chicken (with extra hot sauce) with a finos (portugese for posh) sweet potatoe mashed and a coleslaw at the price of 10.30 pounds.

Very da jeng - must go okay?

There are many different kinds of sauces to choose from and we chose extra hot and garlic sauce.

The ambience was really good. A very quiet sunday compared to a super packed saturday evening.

Next, we spend 30 mins in tesco searching for peri-peri extra hot marinating sauce!!!

Nando's peri peri chicken, watch out for my own roasted chicken! :)
