During the supper break last night, housemates and i were talking about an interesting topic - PORN.


It reminded me about an article i read from a famous blogger - timothy tiah.


In his article, he talks about an unusual way of countering PORN. Lets us call this method as - "let the poison be the antidote for poison'.


"Is it wrong for a guy who is in a relationship to watch porno? i feel unappreciated and degraded by the fact that, eventhough a guy who has a gf, the guy will still watch porn when the gf is not around."


And now tell me, how much do you agree with that statement, claimed by a girl who is currently in a relationship.



Timothy suggested an opposite way of what people normally do - encouraging the bf to watch more porn instead of stopping him.

"You know the saying that goes that if you tell people NOT to do something, they'll do it even more? "

and right now, how much do you agree with the above statement?




Well, in one way, it does make sense and i totally agree with the statement. For example, i love gaming and sometimes i might even play games during the very wrong time. Im a very stubborn person (if you know me well), and i tend to NOT do the right thing when someone (especially my parents) nag me about it again and again. He tells me the disadvantages of playing games, the accidents of over-gaming, getting short-sighted as a result of gaming, but so what, i love gaming and i will continue to play games in my very own way. lolz. But in other way, sometimes it works because of the influnces from many other related factors.


So, lets come back to watching porn, the important note to take back is that - if one day, you ever stop your bf's interest of watching porn, with a wrong way, you might further aggravate him and make him to OVER WATCHING PORN.


Whether it is normal to watch porno or not, its not important! The reasons why your bf does it is NOT important too!!


Instead of stopping one from watching, what if we try overload one with porn so much that he never ever wants to see a porn video again in his life?


Hmmmm... Why not TRY :

Thinking ahead about final exams make my life really sick. Hmmm, since it is the final exams in my entire life, why not i try the same tactic - overload myself with lotsa, YES LOTSA facts (biopharm + pharm care + drug delivery system + etc) right now, become saturated, then eventually i will stop reading books (at least, module notes) once the exams are over in end of may! :)

When i was young, i was keen to learn to play any music instruments. Malaysian Dreamgirl Final

The grand final for MDG is just 2 days away from now. It will be held in ONE utama on tuesday and the official results shall be announced at 6.30pm, Malaysia time (which equals to 11.30am glasgow time). And since my soh poh and housemates might be going there as well, so theoretically i shall receive the results on time. LOLZ.

About 40% - 45% of us are affected with this "NO INTERNET CONNECTION" for almost 2 days dy. This is the second day liao. We have totally no idea of what is going wrong and it came up just so random. There are maybe one or two person in each house which have got no connection to the internet. Some of them chose to move their comp out to the living room and stay connected with wireless (need a little tricks there), but since i cant get connected that way, i prefer to online here in the library with the speed of at least 10times faster.


GEEEEEZ.

She is also the drama queen for the dreamhouse, and many have claimed that 'dont ever trust what she said'.

She was in the bottom 3 last 3 weeks ago, but her dad promised that he will help her to win. That is a very strong word from his dad. Next, Hanis. Suprisingly - she was one of the 2 strongest contestants so far. Nadia - I dont understand why she is still in the top 6, despite i dont like her so much!! arghhhHh, or mayb i was wrong? Kenny sia likes her alot. Many have said that she is a very powerful girl, with full confidence all the time. Lets see - she dont have a good look, she dont look unique, she claimed that she is being honest all the while and this might be the reason why people dont vote for for lately, but i think that is called 'rude'. haha no offence ya. Being straight forward can be a good thing, as well as being a disaster if your audiences are being too sensitive.




Last but not least - Ringo from the cheeserland. She is another strongest contestants that i gona talk about. Only hanis and ringo werent in the bottom 3 yet. She did so so all the while and not much gossips about her. She might be cute, but her height is definitely a problem for her to proceed any further in modelling. She has a massive fan due to her popular blog - no surprise if she wins, but come on, TOP DREAMGIRL OF MALAYSIA, HOW CAN ARH?

I can assure you that they tasted really GREAT. Back to home, my mum also dont cook this sizzling japanese style beancurd erh! So, whoever interested, maybe you can try out the noobies' 7 steps to cook sizzling beancurd recipe as below :

1) Heat up 1x chinese/japanese beancurd (available from chungying) for 5mins, 350 watt microwave
2) prepare some minced chicken/pork
3) Marinate with soy sauce + oyster sauce and cook them
4) Add some water and some corn flour to make the sauce
5) Heat up a new frying pan, make sure your pan is really REALLY hot, add some sesame oil and add in 2eggs
6) Add up the cooked minced chicken/pork, together with all the beancurd into the hot sizzling pan with the eggs.
7) Ready to be served

Morning without electricity

I felt rather weird when i first stepped out of my room this morning, opps wait, this noon at 12 o'clock - all dark lerh in the walkway, toilet and shower room all dark too, merely get some light from the windows in the kitchen.


So, hs and i decided to go out for grocery shopping after having some biscuit/bread for light breakfast. Then, we decided to try Greggs, since we always, always see a super-duper-long queue, especially during the lunch time.

They are super JENG okay, go try it!!!!!!!


When we came back from Tesco at 2.30pm, the electricity was back dy. Woww so good, 1 and half hour earlier than the predicted one. Here in glasgow, everything is so systematic, we were well informed about the electricity cut several months ago erh!


On the other hand, we have some good time abusing our night time to play DOTA last night till almost 4am. @_@ Kim and darren who came back from amsterdam and brussels bought us some chocolates. The chocolates are so lovely too!

It was reported that the risk of drowning is as high as 1/1008 lerh!!! i was told by my swimming coach that one is not possible to get drown in the deep water, but does in the shallow side. Nani???? Is it just some words to build up my confidence in water? Or is it really true that majority of the drowning cases happened near the shallow side?


Im doing good with swimming @ glasgow. The three of us (ed, sm and i) occupied the whole swimming pool for at least half an hour yesterday and we have our own sweet time swimming in the pool. Edmund praticed his jump for at least - erm.. 7 times or more?? :)

So, after the 5 on 5 basketball session yesterday, i had this super-jeng-pan mee from mr and mrs Lau. They claimed that it was their first time making pan mee, after recording down the recipe from mrs lau's granny.

The pan mee is so jeng okay, the soup base very delicious, the minced pork and mushrooms very delicious also, thus my rating = 9.5/10!!!!

We purposely bought this mint lamb from ALDI last friday, after submission of final year project, but then we didnt have a chance to eat them till today.





It is already very small before we put in to grill. After 30mins, the results came out to be unexpectedly small erh! @__@ And this is the day after so long that we never use a single drop of oil, soysauce or oyster sauce to cook - Just plain boil broccoli, mashed potatoes with gravy, grilled fries and grilled lamb.

DULAN with the customers

Dulan = pissed off

I was working with eastern treats on saturday and some customers really pissed me off. They are not just here to get food from eastern treats, but they complained about this and that, give me that type of dulan face, which eventually makes me sibeh dulan.

Sibeh DULAN = super pissed off

That isnt just the ordinary one case, but 3 cases in one day.

One customer was beh shiok with the 5pounds meal deal. She thinks that the price is just way too high of what she expected. She praised me initially (ohhh that is brilliant!) but gave me the unbelieveable-shocking face when i requested 5 pounds from her.

The other lady was nice to me intially too. She requested for sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Everything went well until i added an extra scoop of sweet and sour sauce for her. She gave me the dulan face as she spotted the sauce was harden and became like too thick, so she walked away just like that after saying "Ewwww.. i dont want that anymore!" though i explained to her and offered her a new one.

And the final one - it was a couples in their fourties. Another colleague served them initially and i took over the service half way when she left. I charged him 13.60 pounds instead of the 10 pounds that he expected. I slowly explained to him and he ended up saying that he sees the differences now, and alleged that i cheated his money. -___________-"

On the other hand, i rejected a high-paid + long duration job as chef assistants for Ayr race course this thurs, fri and sat from blue arrow.

My first job in glasgow for Blue arrow as a kp for hamilton was a very tough job.

While my last job with them on 31st december was the best job and the most money that i have made in one night ever.

Food updates!

Surviving alone in overseas has never been easy. Cooking is one essential skill that you must have when you are outside of the world without your family. Hsemates play a very important role in living anywhere from home sweet home.


It has been quite sometime since i last posted on food updates in Glasgow between hsemates and i.


I blogged about "a story of the hsemates" when we first decided to be hsemates back in December 2006.



Since the 2nd day we arrived in Glasgow, we have been doing cooking together for each and every consecutive dinner together, >90% of the time without fail.


From a very simple fried rice



to spaghetti with grilled pork topped with cheese...



From traditional old famous Nasi lemak



to western meal fish and chips...




There were so many meals that we have prepared together throughout the past 10months!


We used to drink MILK like big baby very crazily, take a look of the bottles of milk that we have bought-




There was once when hsheong prepared breakfast for everyone...



There was once when i prepared grilled chicken wings for everyone...



There was once when vyeaw prepared dinner for the 3 of us before sitting pp3 exam...



And jian is alwiz the butcher from H3...





And speaking about chicken, we have quite alot of stories behind chicken meals...

THe best time comes when you get to buy a really cheap REDUCED price marinated chicken like this!!!




Or you managed to grab a BIG chicken and hang it up like this...




And finally you turned them into the-so-delicious honey lemon chicken...

The power of caffeine

I have realised the fact that many of us here are depending on coffee to generally make us stay awake throughout the whole day.

As everyone of you have aware, coffee contains caffeine, which is a that has been widely used for its mild stimulant effects to central nervous system (CNS). It helps to reduce feelings of drowsiness and fatigue. For many people, it works. But they are some rare cases that it doesnt.

And for me, it works 100% too. Even if i only get 4 hours sleep the previous night, but a cup of coffee helps me to stay up late until night.

It has proven to be effective so many more times on me that if i drink a cup of coffee before going to lecture, it helps me to stay awake and pay attention throughout the 2 hours lecture.

However, regular use may lead to "habituation" and this means that there is actually no net benefit from use. Stopping of drinking may lead to withdrawal effects for minority of people as well.

It is exactly 24 hours left before dateline. how many more cups of coffee/nescafe do you need?

Computer lessons

My friend, how many hours do you spend looking at your computer screen daily?


I faced the computer for at least 12 hours daily since the beginning of cpp essay in early march. OMG. It has been a month for everybody here to face the same problem - reading TONS of JOURNALS online. Uncountable, full stop.


It is really tiring and sickening for sitting infront of the comp, searching for info and then analysing them, try to understand them, and writing in your own words out of it. Days after days, we are still there for the LAST final year project.


The dateline is on friday, how many of you still struggling in doing discussion part of final year project?






It is definitely true that we feel so sick with projects, and we feel really tired...




Some people might just give up easily without trying their best...


some of us pray infront of the computer for it to run the job by it owns...


AND some even try to manipulate the computer to do research project manually...


Which one of the solution is working for you?

One more final day, and friday shall be a great day that i am looking to.

Custom photo card

What would you do if you have 100 photo card for the same occasion and yet you are unable to deliver all of them to your friends and family? Lets look at the most recent occasion - easter day. If you have 100 of those easter cards with you, would you send them out to anyone or you will be a little creative and use them for any other things? Creativity is the key here.


Why not try to manipulate them by doing Custom Photo Cards? It is really simple because you can basically write anything in front and inside of the card. You can still have the image of easter bunny on an easter celebration card, but you just alter the text in it. An example would be sending out a wedding invitation card with you and your dreamgirl initially, and then you reveal that it was just for fun, since it is just for the fun for April fool.


Wouldnt that be very fun? Another possible solution would be writing something general in a nice photo card. It can be an image of anything general, such as a famous football player, a famous themepark, an adorable dog or just a scenic background. Then you can have this card for any ocassions which include greetings, as a sign of appreciation, friendships or business.

It can even be on a thanksgiving card as shown below.

ok back to Eastern treats, so the 6 of us (kim, wenjiun, darren, hsheong, n i) purposely went back to ET for a photo session - cos that day was darren's last day working there. Kah yie gg-ied few weeks ago. So now left the 4 of us working for them.

We used to tapao alot of food from there without PAISEH. Cos dont tapao also throw away one larh, bring back YIK hsemates better larh.

Finally, some photos taken to show how 'BIG family run BIG business' at ang moh shopping mall.

The whole business is divided into 3 department, namely preps, cook and till.

We have a rather small kitchen for preparation, just enough to fit 2 person, no more than that. The prep teams will normally chop chicken into pieces, chop beef, defrost prawns, cut garlic, cut peppers, cook rice. (thank god no need to cut ONIONS!! we get them ready from burger king! haha)

Next, its our main kitchen for cooking. Anyone of us can be standing right there to cook for 100 over of customers in a day.

Since this it was a good chance to take picture, i took it and pattern abit nia larh :P

And the last and easiest work to do, the till --> serve customers and but make sure you collect the right amount each day, if not you will be be gg-ied!

And finally, a happie family working @ Eastern Treats. We missed to take pics with our super nice supervisor - Allen. He quitted due to some problems with his visa. Just wish to see him again, and of cause, would be 100 times glad under his supervision again.
